The business is operated by Clayton and Jodi Wehner. Our book orders are fulfilled by Seekmedia Pty. Ltd., an online book fulfilment service located in Sydney. Boomerang Books provides the same range of titles as the big book stores, but the difference is our price - our standard discount is 10% off the retail price. On our monthly discount days, you will save 20% off the retail price. Boomerang Books offers an everyday discount of 10% off the retail price. This discount is already applied to the book sale prices in our database (with some exceptions). Discount Days. Every month Boomerang Books runs a 20% Discount Day. Most books in our database are discounted by 20% off the retail price on these special days. The discount is automatically applied to the book sale price on those days. Our upcoming Discount Days are announced via our free email newsletter, the Boomerang Books Bulletin, and on the home page of our website. In addition to our regular discount days, Boomerang Books offers discount voucher codes to customers on occasions (eg. free shipping, $5 off the order total). A single voucher code is redeemable per order. More than one voucher code cannot be redeemed for the same order. A single voucher code may be used in conjunction with our site-wide discount days, allowing you to 'double-dip' on these days. Boomerang Books accepts bulk orders and is pleased to offer a discount of 20% off the retail price on all orders that total more than $1000 (when the 20% discount has been applied). To receive the bulk order discount, please contact our customer service staff on 1300 36 33 32. Note that we are unable to take purchase orders. All orders must be pre-paid. Pricing for each book is clearly indicated on the site. Imported books are priced depending on the current exchange rate from the country of origin and includes the cost of importation. All prices are listed in Australian dollars (even those that are from overseas) and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). If you are purchasing from outside Australia, please make use of our currency converter: XE.com Personal Currency Assistant. Book Vouchers - buy them here... Books make great gifts, but often it's hard to know what book to buy. Rather than wracking your brain trying to find the right book for the right person, why not give a Boomerang Book Voucher instead? Boomerang Book Vouchers come in denominations of $20, $30 or $50. They can be redeemed online from Boomerang Books. The voucher recipient can choose from our great range of over 1.2 million titles. And our discounted prices will ensure that they get great value for money when they select their books. How does it work? Once you have purchased the voucher using our secure shopping cart, an email voucher will be sent to you, the purchaser, the following day. You may then add your own greeting and forward the voucher by email to the recipient. Upon receiving the email voucher, the recipient will be directed to a redemption page on the Boomerang Books website. Here, the recipient is required to register the book voucher serial number. The value of the voucher will then be honoured against any purchase from Boomerang Books. Any unspent portion of an online book voucher will be credited towards one subsequent purchase. Please note that the total of each order will be forwarded to you as one voucher. If, for example, you order a $50 and a $30 voucher in the same order, you will receive a single voucher with a total value of $80. If you intend to send several vouchers to different people you will need to place them as separate orders. Doing this does not incur any extra costs. We have made every effort to make buying a book from our store as simple as possible. Use the search facility to find the book that you want, click on the title and you will be taken to the individual product page. To place your order, click on 'Add to Shopping Basket'. Once you have placed the item in your 'basket', you can choose to proceed to the 'Check Out' or to 'Continue Shopping'. Books not appearing in Shopping Basket. A common problem for users of Boomerang Books is books not appearing in their shopping basket. To use the shopping basket function, users need to ensure that their internet browser has 'cookies' enabled. 'Cookies' are small pieces of information stored on the user's computer. Boomerang Books uses 'cookies' to store a list of the user's purchases. To turn 'cookies' on, please refer to your browser's help function. Please see our privacy statement for more information on 'cookies'. We are able to gift wrap many of the books in our database at a cost of $3.00 per item. This option is located within the checkout procedure. Please select this option PRIOR to selecting 'Secure Check Out Now'. Simply select the wrap of your choice and type a short personal message. Please note that if you have multiple items within your order, then all items must be gift wrapped. We do not offer individual item wrapping within a single order. When you click on 'Check Out', you are taken to your shopping basket. Here you can review your purchases and, if necessary, make changes to your order. Deleting a purchase. If you decide that you don't want a particular title, simply click the 'Delete' button next to the title. Multiple copies. If you want to change the number of copies you want to buy of a particular title, highlight the number in the 'Quantity' box, type in the number of copies you require, and then click 'Update Basket'. When you are happy with your order, click on 'Check Out Now'. You will then be prompted for your account details. The first time that you purchase books from Boomerang Books, you will need to create a customer account. You only need to enter your personal information (name, address, etc.) for your first purchase from Boomerang Books. On subsequent visits, you will only need to enter your user-defined username and password. Setting up an account. After you have finished shopping, click on 'Check Out Now' to create an account. As a new customer, click on the 'Create New User Account' button. Enter your personal details and then you will then be prompted to create a user name and password. This will enable you to return to Boomerang Books and shop without having to type in your personal details again. It also enables you to track the progress of your book orders. Make sure that you keep your user name and password in a safe place. Tracking your orders. To track your pending orders or the review your past purchases, click on Your Online Account on the home page. Enter your username and password on the Account Login page and hit 'Login'. You can now view past or pending orders. You will be able to see which items have already shipped, when they were shipped, the method of delivery and which items are still being processed. Changing account information. Click on Your Online Account on the home page. Enter your username and password on the Account Login page and hit 'Login'. Select the relevant fields that you wish to change and type in the new details. Click on the 'Save My Changes' button. Security of details. We retrieve all of our personal information from our secure database. For security reasons, you must enter your credit card information each time you visit. We use Australia Post for all of our deliveries within Australia. Our freight costs are very affordable, particularly if you purchase multiple books. Australian customers are charged a flat postage and handling fee of $6.95 regardless of the number of books they purchase in the one order. Even if your books are shipped to you in separate consignments, you will only ever pay $6.95 postage in total (ie. you will be charged $6.95 for the first package and nothing for subsequent packages) International orders are sent via Fedex Express or Australia Post Express Courier International, depending on the delivery country. After your billing and shipping address details are confirmed, you will be asked to provide payment details. We accept cheque, money order, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club or Bankcard.
Credit cards are handled by our secure server and charged the next business day after the order is dispatched. Alternatively, you may ring through your credit card details on 1300 36 33 32 (9am-5pm Mon-Fri AEST) If you wish to pay by cheque/money order, complete the purchasing process as you would if you were paying by credit card. Select your payment preference on the payment page (cheque/money order) and you will be given a order reference number. Note - we do not currently accept purchase orders since all orders must be pre-paid. All of our book prices are inclusive of a Goods and Services Tax (GST) charge of 10% in accordance with Australian law. Overseas customers only are entitled to a 10% credit on their order. To obtain the credit, please contact us after you have placed your order, requesting the 10% GST credit.
All books are shipped from our fulfilment centre in Sydney, Australia. Stock holdings. Not all of our books are carried in stock and many need to be ordered in. Expected delivery times are displayed when a title is selected. Generally, titles in stock in Australia are shipped within 3-7 days of order (depending on availability). A further 20 days should be added for UK or USA titles. Out of print books. Occasionally books appear on the database even when they are unavailable or out of print. Customers will be notified by email if their order cannot be filled. Guarantee. We guarantee that all books purchased will reach you in good condition. If they do not, or you are not completely satisfied for some reason, please return the item to us within 30 days of receipt and we will replace or refund the full cost of the book. Shipping and handling expenses are not subject to refund, unless the book is damaged or we shipped you the wrong product. Returning books. Boomerang Books will accept returns of books with a delivery note, within 30 days of purchase, but books must be in a resaleable condition. If you have no delivery note, please return the book with a copy of the order acknowledgement email you received when the order was placed. If you were given the book as a gift, please do not worry as we can trace the amount paid. When returning items to our customer service centre, please indicate the reason for your return on the reverse side of the packing slip and include the packing slip in the box. For your protection, you may wish to send your return via insured parcel post. We have implemented a number of security measures designed to provide you with peace of mind when shopping online. Secure Store Guarantee. Boomerang Books uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to ensure that your credit card details are kept secure. We back every purchase made by credit card with our secure store guarantee. We use the latest encryption technology to keep your personal information safe and we do not release it to any third party. We do not keep records of your credit card information. If fraudulent charges are ever made on your credit card arising from transactions on this site, you will not be liable for them. What is SSL? The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, originally developed by Netscape, has become the universal standard on the Web for authenticating Web sites to Web browser users, and for encrypting communications between browser users and Web servers. Our parent organisation, Seekmedia.com Pty. Ltd., has a current Thawte security certificate which verifies the security of our server. Alternative payment methods. If you do not wish to enter your credit card details into our payment system, you may pay by other means. Boomerang Books respects your right to privacy under the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth of Australia) and is required to comply with the National Privacy Principles in respect to the collection of personal information from individuals. Personal information. Be assured that we keep all personal information submitted to us in the strictest confidence. The information is stored on a secure server and is only used to process your order and for our own marketing purposes. We do not keep records of your credit card information and we do not rent or sell your personal information to any third party without your permission. However, we must fully cooperate should a situation arise where we are required by law to provide information about a customer. Email address. Boomerang Books will record your email address for order notification purposes and if you choose to subscribe to our mailing list via our online subscription form or by responding to our email invitation after purchasing a book. Subscribers will receive our monthly newsletter and subscriber Discount Day alerts. Recipients of these messages may choose to 'unsubscribe' from our list by following the directions in the email. We do not use your e-mail address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it to others, without your consent. Cookies. When you add books to your shopping cart, a small text file, known as a "cookie" is stored on your computer. This file contains unique information that allows the site to identify you. Cookies are used to make your shopping experience at Boomerang Books easier. It is our policy not to make use of cookies for marketing purposes. Boomerang Books provides the following services and support for authors and publishers: Listing a book in the Boomerang Books database. Boomerang Books is essentially a book ordering service, which means that we do not hold large quantities of stock. We will generally only order a book from the publisher upon receipt of an order from a customer. Accordingly, we do not buy quantities of books from publishers without a firm order. It is possible to sell your book via Boomerang Books, but to do so, you must list your book in the Nielsen Bookdata book feed. Boomerang Books uses the Nielsen feed and your book will be automatically listed in our database, if you are represented in that feed. Please contact Nielsen separately to arrange for your book to be listed. Altering an existing listing in the Boomerang Books database. If your book is already listed in our database, then it is available for sale from Boomerang Books. If your listing is incorrect or needs to be changed, it is important that you contact Nielsen Bookdata to correct this, as this is the source of our book information (and the source of many other online bookstores and in-house book cataloguing systems). Changes will be updated within 7 days as we take a weekly feed from Nielsen. Book Giveaways. Boomerang Books is happy to receive book samples for use as giveaways (signed copies are very welcome!). In return, we will happily showcase your book in our fortnightly newsletter (currently sent to approximately 5700 recipients). Please contact us for information on where to send your sample copies.
